The CCS is used in battery packs for electric vehicles as well as in industrial and residential energy storage systems. It connects battery cells in series and parallel, forming the foundation for high-performance and safe battery systems in both mobile and stationary applications—addressing key use cases of the energy transition.
High level of integration reduces system complexity
The solution is designed for prismatic and cylindrical cell formats and can be flexibly integrated into various module and pack architectures. In addition to current conduction, the CCS performs key functions such as cell voltage and temperature sensing, passive cell balancing, and isolated daisy-chain communication to the battery management system.
“We combine cell contacting, sensing, and communication in one solution,” says Christian Göser, CSO of Swoboda.
This high level of integration reduces wiring effort while improving space efficiency and diagnostic capabilities. The modular design also enables flexible adaptation to different cell layouts and customer requirements.
In-house development – global production
Swoboda combines in-house development and industrialization expertise with global manufacturing capabilities and proven production technologies. Development and production meet the high standards of the automotive industry—particularly in terms of quality, scalability, process reliability, and global supply capability.
