Battery housings

48V battery systems help optimize combustion engine operation and thus reduce CO2 emissions. Here, battery housings must be able to withstand extreme stress loads. Such housings need to be highly stable and fire resistant, as the batteries swell up and get very hot during the charging process. Swoboda develops housings that include busbars, bonding contacts, and spacers with robust yet light plastic connections.

Features and Benefits
  • Ripped external structure for the housing makes for better structural stability and a larger cooling surface
  • Cover with integrated plug connectors (output and signal) 48V, CAN bus interface, and battery terminals
  • Shunt for regulating the charging process
  • Mechanical compression of the cell pack ensured throughout the entire life cycle
