Wiggensbach/Fürth, August 8, 2022. The technology firm Swoboda is now making its expertise in injection molding tools available to external customers too. Its Fürth plant is where most of the injection molding tools are built and looked after by the automotive supplier, which operates at 12 sites all over the world.

“We often get inquiries from potential customers from various industry sectors, asking us whether we can support them with our many decades’ worth of knowledge,” says General Manager Florian Kohl. This includes developing, designing, and constructing injection molding tools as well as finishing and repairing existing tools or those acquired elsewhere. Swoboda Fürth also handles project management, contract manufacturing, servicing, and maintenance tasks.

The Fürth site, which employs 35 people, came into being in late 2014 following the acquisition of an experienced tool maker. Two years later, it moved into a new, state-of-the-art building and was expanded. The company joined the “Marktspiegel Werkzeugbau” cooperative for the tool making industry in 2020. Earlier this year, it also began training tool makers specializing in mold engineering.

Swoboda, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2022, geared itself up for the technological transformation in the automotive industry at an early stage and is playing an active role in its development. The technology firm intends to play an even stronger role in the complete development of sensor, electronic and actuator systems in the future.
